Matinees on Thursday 16th September at 2:00pm and Saturday 18th September at 3:00pm. | | Venue: | The Lyceum Theatre | | Location: | Tudor Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire. S1 2LA. England. | | Notes: | The Sheffield Lyceum Theatre was first opened in 1897, but was closed in the late 60s and fell into disrepair. It was completely revamped and refurbished in 1990. The Lyceum Theatre is situated in a pleasant square, with a large underground multi-storey car park. Both the car park and the theatre are easily found. The facade of the building is beautiful, and very tastefully renovated in the original style. The Box Office is situated within the next-door Crucible Theatre.
The foyer is small, but warm and comfortable. The Auditorium itself is stunning - a cleaned-up version of the traditional 19th century theatre. There are gold embellishments, chandeliers, draped velvet, and a beautifully ornate, painted fire screen, which is dropped during the interval. | | Websites: | The Sheffield Theatre's Website |
