THE MOVIE

Jekyll & Hyde is headed for the big screen! The entertainment production and marketing firm The Hatchery announced that it has acquired the rights to develop the musical into a feature film, which it will do in partnership with Grand Illusions Media Partners.

The film will be produced by Academy Award Winner Jonathan Sanger, Emmy Award Winners Margaret Loesch and Dan Angel, and by Ed Elbert. Multiple Oscar and Grammy Winner Leslie Bricusse and Tony and Grammy Nominee Frank Wildhorn will Executive Produce, along with Sarah Ryan Black of Grand Illusions and Bruce Stein of The Hatchery.

The Latest News: In an October 2007 interview with BroadwayWorld.com, Frank Wildhorn said that "No, there isn't a [production] timeline and I'd say that it's a few years away. What I can say for sure though is that there are people actively working on it every day, as part of their jobs...so progress is being made!"

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about the movie...

Will this movie have songs from Jekyll in it?

Yes, this project is a full movie musical, like the recent releases of Chicago, Phantom of the Opera or Rent. The characters will sing, just as they do on stage. We don't know exactly which songs will be included yet.

When will it come out?

We don't know yet. No timetable or target release date has been determined at this time.

Who will be in it?

We don't know that either, right now. Casting hasn't taken place.

This will be a completely new production of the show. Keep in mind that it is not going to be based directly on any one past production or cast. There isn't any guarantee that past performers from the Broadway or other stagings of the show will be cast in the movie, though they certainly might be considered.

How can I audition for it?

We, at this website, don't have any information about the casting process for the movie at this time. It would be best ot have an agent or manager look into it for you. We will post any details that we learn, but cannot guarantee that we will actually learn about auditions before they take place.

When will we know more?

It's hard to say. Fans may want to see things happen as quickly as possible, but we need to allow enough time for things to be done right.

Any new details will be posted here as they are announced.
